The Dreaded Query Letter

I have been combing through the world wide web in search of the best advice on query letters. Do you know there are gazillions of examples? It's enough to make a sane person go crazy! (or, if you're me, go shoe shopping to release the agonizing pressure!) In this query letter, one must give a perfect first impression to entice a literary agent or publisher into wanting to read your book. IN ONE PAGE. It must be so compelling and describe your story right off the bat or your letter will forever be lost in the slushpile, without so much as one word read of your book. It is truly blood, sweat, and tears! IN ONE PAGE. It promotes you and your work. My first attempt (ok, honestly, it was probably more like 100 attempts) I ended up with a beautiful masterpiece that read like this..."Just read my book." I WILL conquer this! I may not have any hair left, but I WILL persevere!! haha! I hope it will be before I turn 80! Wish me luck! And best of luck to anyone who has tried to conquer The Dreaded Query Letter!
